Sharp MD-MT 770

Subject: Sharp MD-MT 770

I have purchased a Shapr MD-MT 770 recorder last January and have used it
extensively. In October, I started received a TOC read whenever I put in a
disc to either play or record and has made it unusable. I spent time
working through the problem with Sharp Japan and was getting ready to send
it back for repairs and wanted to confirm the error message and low and
behold it was working perfectly. In the interim I purchased a Sony NZ-10
which I don't like quite as much but it has the NetMD feature so I wouldn't
be minidiscless.

Has anyone heard or had a similar experience. I would hate to send it back
to Japan for warranty repair and bare the cost of postage both ways and not
having it for at least 1 month. I plan on using it a lot to make sure since
my warranty is ove mid-January.

Any other ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,

Ilene
