the group an mp3 file for a quick listen? or could i pass the edited 40
second mp3 file (or upload it somewhere) to the group or does that bog down
the list? Have folks recorded this up and down call before?
I've heard barred owl juveniles challenge our tents camping before with
booming clucking but have never heard this up and down funny leering whistle
till this fall. It's certainly seems like an alarm call.
The bird couldn't have been more than 100' away tops. I was hiding in my van
as usual. I did record a similar owl scream (3 consecutive screams) around
midnight in West Virginia 4 weeks ago as well. And I'm assuming they're
Barred but's that's because of the clucking afterward. maybe they are Great
Horned? Are Barred's known for this up and down cat call?
It does seem when you save to mp3 some highs and lows are clipped? i'm a
real novice on all my editing, saving, transferring files.
my passion is capturing nightime wildlife sounds. all the really great calls
I've heard, of course, the recorder wasn't on or there were technical
problems! or the days i couldn't afford tape-still here, really. and night
time wildlife taping has really cut into my beer drinkin' cause of the
falling asleep thing, hah!
great to be listening in to this knowledgeable crowd.
could i ask the group what's the cleanest way of saving and emailing audio
files? I'm using Adobe Audition.
Thank you. hope not to bore. kinda proud of catching that scream though. Had
the mic on top of the van.
The big bird was saying hello.
