Here's a 2 minute "composition" featuring those sassy street-smart city crickets chirping away up here in the Oakland (California) hills last week. The foregroud chirps are unprocessed save for some eq-ing to eliminate low freq distant traffic hum. The two alpenhorn- like note clusters are single chirps slowed down considerably with a little reverb added for effect. Recorded using a Rode NT4 stereo mic (stuck about three feet into the bushes) going directly into a Korg D1600 hard disk recorder running off a current inverter from my car battery. mp3 file at: http://geophony.homestead.com Caesar ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
