Another great choice we have for a PIP (Plug-in-Power) omni mic is the new= Telinga EM-23. It derives its power from the recorder, and all consumer MD= recorders have PIP. I've been using one outside my home for 18 months, never even taking it in out of the rain, so I know they are very humidity and heat resistant. Cost is $275 USD, available from me in the US, Klas elsewhere.
