FLAC without loss compression

I have been playing with FLAC lately and it seems to be growing into
something very nice.

It compresses .wav files without loss and saves around 40 to 50
percent in size. a 22.1 mono, 1 min, mono, wav comes down to about
1.4 meg in natural sound audio.

The front end and other compatible software upgrades are around but
as I understand the license agreement this is "Free" as in Free
Beer, "Free" as to no restrictions of any sort, and Free as in "Open
Source".

If you want to upgrade Cooledit to be FLAC compatible it takes
nothing more than to put this small 45kb file in your main directory
with the other .flt files.

To take a filter copy written for just Cooledit download this.

For other users search for "FLAC"
