Dominique raised the issue of hosting Dawn Chorus 2003 recordings:

space for a while...

I would be interested in principle in hosting the sounds (and archiving and
labelling etc them) on the British Library site. We have the server space,
audio editors, encoders etc. The main proviso is that the sounds would be
converted to RealAudio format, which some of you might say is not your
favourite audio file type... The advantage however is that I can host the
longer recordings you are interested in, and the listener who has the free
RealAudio player and plugins can hear the sounds right away without waiting
for downloads. I can accept files in most audio formats (even wax cylinder,
wire, if you wish!) and do the conversion here. What do others think?
