Unfortunately the Xitel device still requires
the minidisc to use its analog out (line out
or headphones out) port to send a signal to
the PC or Mac. And the file transfer is
still done in real time. That is, NetMD
still works in one direction only.

Rather than connecting to the analog
input on a PC soundcard, the minidisc plugs
into an analog input on the Xitel box.=20
The signal is digitized in the Xitel,
and passed on to the PC or Mac via USB.=20
In other words, for minidisc to pc transfer
the Xitel box works like the $35 iMic.=20

We'll have to wait for user reports to know
if the Xitel does a better job of digitizing
than the iMic or a PC soundcard.
