And there I was, thinking Sennheiser was a reliable company making good mics. My Sennheiser shotgun (MKH 815) seems to have suffered appreciable loss of sensitivity and I thought to have it checked out. Sadly, the Australian distributors tell me that Sennheiser no longer supports that model. And it's only about thirty years old! :-) Thank goodness* I've got a Telinga and reflector, which for my main purpose - lyrebirds at a distance - is even better than the shotgun was when functional.
