Greetings,

My name is Raven. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. I
have been interested in recording live sounds,
particularly nature, for about 14 years(actually far
longer if you count my early fun with toilets etc., as
a child). I started out recording on cheezy cassette
players and have since progressed to other mediums.

My main area of recording is the diverse terrain of
Utah. I consider myself a novice and I am actively
learning my craft. The primary use for my recordings
are the ambient music, film and band sound projects
that my husband and I create in our home studio. I
like to use the enviroments that I record along with
samples I find elsewhere to create worlds of sound.

My day job is in pro-audio. I work in custom cabeling
and sales for Performance Audio in Salt Lake City, UT.
The website there is www.performanceaudio.com. I'm
the person whom builds custom snakes, studio panels
and other such stuffs. My personal, band, website is
www.shapeshifting.com.

I currently use a Sony ECM999 stereo mic into a Tascam
DA-P1 and sometimes a sony minidisc to record. I am
currently researching more portable alternatives. I
have CoolEdit Pro on my PC dinosaur for editing and
multitracking puposes along with 8 channels of Alesis
ADAT.

My subjects have been crickets, rain, thunder, wind,
birds and whatever I can get(not to exclude the
domestic pets). I also record man-made sounds.

I am happy to have found this list and look forward to
learning more.

Regards,
Raven
