If you got the Jecklin disk to work well for you then congrates.
I have tried it a few times and all of my protos were terrible.
The way I found around the problem with this configuration is to go
to "high density" foam. Two layers, each 4" thick and separated with
plywood. The total size is 12" X 12" X 8.25". In this configuration
the foam becomes the shockmount for the mics. I drill the foam with a
sharpened copper pipe for a clean cut in the center at right angles.
That is after I drilled the plywood seperator with a conventional
spade drill.
I call this configuration a "foam blockhead". It can be set on the
ground, a table, or mounted on a mic stand. I can take photos if you
do not understand. I just could not get a good enough separation
with the Jecklin disk and am glad my name is not Jecklin. It was
doing the "baseball diamond" run around, sound test, that made me go
to a higher separation system. Put the mic on the pitchers mound and
run the bases screeming so that the entire neighborhood knows you are
crazy. Then listen to the playback and tell the neighbors that I
made you do it.

Subject: mic holders for Jecklin disk
Hi Gang,
Anyone know where I can acquire two 21mm mic holders as shown here:
http://www.josephson.com/tn5.html ?
This is for a Jecklin disk I'm putting together for ambient sound
recording, employing two Senn ME62's with Shure A96F transformers. I
did a mock-up with plywood, dowells, and 3/4" garden hose, and am
very pleased with the resultant increased gain and stereo image. I'll
post a sample comparing with/without the transformers.
Aloha,
David
