On reading Everts note (Jan 29, below) I was concerned.
Having just bought a "SB Live!" I wanted to know if the 48 kHz digitizing
was truly the only way to enjoy full undistorted dynamic range.
After a private exchange with Evert, during whioch I made many tests
(available by email) we now agree on these positive notes:
1. different models of SB Live! cards are very unequal. The latest has
several improvements.
2. The current LIVE! shelf: "SB Live! 5.1" ( $ 69 USD) has NO problem
digitizing analog signals at 48 or 44.1 with equally good results.
3. The 5.1 has no digital inputs, but low-cost hardware digital inputs are=
available from hoontech (and I am now so buying).
my best regards,

Dear Recordists,
I also use a LIVE II Drive (CT4760), up to now without troubles, beside
installation (hardware conflicts).
I have a few mp3 sounds on our site. Best regards from Vienna, Austria
