Because it runs off 8 AA batteries, and gets 5 hours without a drive.
Put a hard drive in it and get next to nothing. They know the first
comments will be about that battery life.

That'll be an HHB portadrive - full featured mixing and 2.5"hdd multi-track
recording in one battery powered, portable box. Might be a little
overspecked for nature recording with its Timecode and upto 8 track
recording!!
