Yes, of course, it's all the fault of ATRAC. It even causes our ears to
hear the same thing before we record, and causes DAT, reel to reel and
cassette to make the same recording error by remote control. Not sure if
it also did it to wire recording. Sony is out to get us all.
This has been around for at least 50 years that I personally know of. I
first observed this with my own ears before I started High School. And
in tape recordings.
My guess is it's been around since animals started making sounds. Or
with non animal sounds before that. Thunderstorms even do this.
BTW, minidisc records it in a very detailed fashion. It must "think"
it's important. That is if a piece of silicon can think.
You don't want me to take apart the old technology do you? I've
personally used it all from wire recorder on. Every recording technology
invented introduces minute distortions. The older stuff introduces great
big distortions.
I know that reality does sometimes closely resemble the biggest error of
all, but this is reality. The animals really sound like that.
The question I have is do we use ID clips that include the
multi-individual call sounds or just the "pure" single calls. We are
going to have all out frog chorus tracks as well just to make sure it's
completely confusing. But we start out being semi nice with just the
single species calls. Or as close to that as luck and filtering can do.
