You think S. New England is noisy, try S.Old England!

I thought that when I moved to Australia the noise
problem would go away, wrong. One trip to a remote NP
in the N.Territory, involving 50km of dirt track from
the highway found me at a campsite where a large party
of schoolchildren were on a field trip. Very noisy.
When they had left I was able to hear the generator of
a homestead god knows how far away.
I have come to the conclusion that if I have been able
to get to a place, so will other people. Even in
remote forests in Madagascar recordings were made to
the accompnyment of local people chopping wood. Small
uninhabited offshore islands seem to be among the
better choices of locations, but you will never get
away from the aircraft noise anywhere. Dont despair
patience will get you the recordings you want. Good
luck.
