This morning I noticed an interesting article comparing music compression software. The author compressed a WAV file using MP3, WMA and AAC, set to sample at 128Kbps.=20 The results are displayed using CoolEdit's frequency analyzer. See the graphs at http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer/02q3/020712/2u4u-05.html In this example, the AAC file did a much better job of capturing the 15-20KHz frequency range of the WAV file. The AAC file subjectively sounded best, too.=20 Can anyone share results of a similar frequency analysis comparing WAV with flavors of ATRAC?=20 ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
