For those that are tempted to use the AGC aka ALC (automatic
recording gain control) of a Sony MD or other recording device.
Here is my confession of sin.
It did not help and did not save my recording (3 hail marys tossed
in).
Here is a visual of how it drops the volume to prevent a over 100%
situation.

To me the recording is seriously flawed. In support of the alc the
people that wanted this recording (ie Owls Owner) didn't hear the
defect. Doesn't matter if they heard it or not, I still will drive
the 200 miles to record her (50% chance of being right) right.
For me I am done with AGC
