Recent trapping of a Desert Mouse (Pseudomys destor) in Sturt NP in western NSW is interestingly similar to Painted Finch in that both have recently "extended" their range into NSW from central Australian. Although the mouse at least was formerly and perhaps always resident there: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/10/07/2383680.htm Andrew |
