Hi All
Please kind someone.
Look this up in Australian Names for Australian Rodents.
I guess it indicates how to pronounce the proposed names.
It important because we try to avoid the r-a-t word in this urban are in
relation to Rakali ie. Hydromys chrysogaster/Australian Water Rat.
I have (guess why?) been assuming "rakali" requires an upper-class English
accent:
Raw - car - lee
But the other day a Scot produced a version as if it came from across the
Tasman:
Rick - cally
Thanks
