Interesting Snipe

My first quick impression.

We need a sharp image of the coverts to be sure of the species identity. If that were an old Latham's Snipe, the tips of the primaries and secondaries would be dark. I can't see that, and the buff tips to the coverts and tertials, together with the ragged active moult of the coverts indicate that the bird is in its first year, i.e it hatched in June or July 2026. The trailing toes could be an illusion if the bird has just flushed from the ground.
