Dear members
It is time for me to start planning the field trip programme for the first half of 2027. Firstly, I would like to thank all of those who volunteered to lead trips in 2026 and for coming up with such an interesting and diverse variety of destinations.
I try to NOT repeat a location for 3 years (with exceptions for a few outings like the Campbell Park nest workshop). Field trips can take several forms:
It is always wonderful to visit somewhere new, including private property where the owners may welcome a visit from birders. For a list of places that we have visited previously, look at Past Events on the website at https://canberrabirds.org.au/past-events/
If you are prepared to lead an outing, remember that you do not need to be an experienced birder as there are always others on the outing who will be only too willing to help you. Please contact me, preferably within the
next 10 days, if you can help.
With thanks
Sue Lashko
