It likely got chased off from whatever was its preferred morning roost, by currawongs, miners, ravens, etc (that often happens) and whilst fleeing,
escaped & stumbled onto this tank. Then realised this is not the right place for me and
then flew up into a tree.

We recently had a tawny frogmouth appear on water tank in Campbell in the morning. It then flew up into a tree. Seemed alert and healthy.
Wondering if this is unusual behaviour and what could explain this (very welcome though surprising!) appearance?
