Hello all,

The Conservation Council of the A.C.T. has sponsored a documentary about Canberra's Western Edge, On the Edge, that will premiere on Tuesday 12 May, 6.00 to 8.00 pm at the National Film and Sound Archive. On the Edge explores the crossroads Canberra currently faces between further suburban expansion into the bush or building sustainably, in harmony with nature, and how this might be achieved.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion chaired by Executive Director of the Conservation Council, Simon Copland, which will further consider issues around sustainable development in the A.C.T. The panel will feature:
  • Trent Houssenloge - On the Edge film maker
  • Selina Walker - Emerging Ngunnawal Elder
  • Kim Farley - President of Canberra Birds
  • Dr Ed Wensing - Expert urban planner
You will find more information about the film and can purchase tickets here:

Julie Hotchin
