Hi Steve,

It looks like it's been removed from the Apple store. That's a shame, but you get a fair number of his recordings in the Morcombe app.

Cheers,
Rob

Hi all

Does anyone know the situation with regard to the Stewart Australian Bird Calls app on the Apple App Store (I have an iPhone). This app does not appear to be available there any more – perhaps following David Stewart’s passing?

Or is may be that I am not searching correctly…

Thanks in advance

Regards

Steve

Also consider David Stewart's Australian Bird Calls app if you are just after calls. Only a subset of Stewart's recordings are used in the Morcombe app, so you get more by also having Stewart's app.

Cheers, Rob

Hi Coral

I don't know if Graeme Chapman's photos and calls have gone to another site but if not, there are other options for birds calls and photos. These include the smart phone (app) versions of the Pizzey and Knight Birds of Australia field guide and the Morecambe Birds of Australia field guide. I prefer the Pizzey Knight app as the illustrations are way better than Morecambe's, and Pizzey Knight includes photos as well as Knight's familiar illustrations. Both these field guide apps include all the text and maps from the print versions, plus multiple audio recordings of the songs and calls for each species.

If you don't wish to pay around $40.00 to purchase one of these field guide apps, you can use eBird's Explore Species fo the Macaulay Library. This provides  photos and calls and being eBird, every record has been reviewed and verified.

I have always used Graeme Chapman's site for bird calls. They were always top quality and usually local but his website has nothing there anymore. Does anyone know if the photos and calls have gone to another site?
