The Conservation Council is currently running a major campaign to stop further housing/urban development west of Mt Stromlo/Denman Prospect (Weston Creek). This is important
to protect the Murrumbidgee River corridor, habitats and connectivity for birds (and other biodiversity) on the western edge of Canberra. The ACT Government is proposing unsustainable and unaffordable development there.
The Council is seeking donations to fund this campaign, which Canberra Birds encourages members to support – information at: https://conservationcouncil.org.au/western-edge/
There is a free webinar on Wed 1 October 12-1pm which members might be interested in. https://events.humanitix.com/webinar-save-our-western-edge/tickets
