Around upper Narrabundah, I am hearing a lot of what I take to be the territorial song of the Noisy Miner.  The xeno-canto recordings are mainly of begging,  contact,  alarm or mobbing behaviour, not many of the song, which has a softer and rhythmic quality.  I hear this at any time of day, although it’s sometimes labelled ‘dawn’.  I assume this is the sound given in Australian Bird Guide as ‘tiu-tiu-tiu for territorial advertising including dawn song’.

The sound I am hearing contains an evenly repeated phrase which I would render as  ‘wichachoo – wichachoo – wichachoo – wichachoo’.  However, there is some variation in the phrasing.  Sometimes more like 2 syllables (XC269271), and there is a version in  xeno-canto where the phrase is more like a 4 syllable ‘wicha-chachit’  -  XC504336 https://xeno-canto.org/species/Manorina-melanocephala?pg=1
