There have been multiple reports of multiple Black Kites seen across Canberra this morning. The species is rare in the ACT, and it is usually single birds that are seen.
The following reports were made to eBird. It perhaps suggests one group of Kites moving across the ACT? The sequence of reports was:
Aranda Snow Gums at 8.30 AM. 20-26 birds. Reported by a COG Outing group on
this Checklist
Paddy's Park near Strathnairn at 10.45 AM. 7 birds. Photos included.
National Arboretum at 11.00 AM. 12 birds. Good field notes.
Weston Creek at 11.30. 30 birds. This record is not currently confirmed.
Mugga tip at Symonston at 11.53 AM. 13 birds. Field notes. Photos to be added. Reported on
this Checklist
Keep your eyes open.
