This is nothing new go back years ago when the BSKites were nesting at the wetlands  birder after birder photographers binoculars all tramping around the bottom of the tree

I told them to stop they well leave the area as one stated to me "it is the swamp hens leaving the track " darn big swamp hens did not know they carried cameras or binoculars

As we know they did leave moved to another area up the road  and followed by the "swamp hens"

Even now signs placed by rangers mean nothing to some

Yes I have seen a group of so called citizen scientists disturbing nesting sites with nesting birds mind you they were on private property they thought their car was hidden behind the embankment sorry they were not hidden easy spotted further down the road

More then once it was a regular occurrence

Putting up at xyz is a pair of possible breeding birds  don't know if they will breed just saying the approximate area will encourage this type of  people to search

Keep your keyboard mouth etc shut until after its over then when all raised etc sure post away but not while the event is happening it is one way to stop this behaviour just keep it in a trusted group of people

Placing it on view in ebird oh look at this best check it out hide it until all is done and dusted same as social media emails to groups etc

Understand others will wish to see the progress that is the trusted group I mentioned above

Take notes or photos if you can they are digitally imprinted with date time etc as proof if required even by your phone

Let someone trustworthy know as a back up ie Jack, Michael or Mark  what you have seen with records as the time goes on

The more it is advertised it is more encouragement

Beside not being liked by many I have not been posting much this season until the season is over due to this very reason the wildlife comes first not just to get numbers up

Look at ebird alone not everyone posts on there how many have been to spring station since it was posted about the hooded robins

No I have not been to WBP Only seen what has been posted

I dont care what  you think about what I have said just think before you act
