Hi all

This Tuesday evening (12 Nov), the Wildbark Science series at Mulligans Flat is hosting Professor David Bowman - see below. I expect David will be talking about the role of fire in ecosystem restoration.

David is an exceptional speaker (if sometimes challenging) and all who go along will enjoy it - recommended.

Happy Friday Friends, we kick the newsletter off with a special guest to the Sanctuary next week!
 
Professor David Bowman is an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow and the Director of the transdisciplinary Fire Centre at the University of Tasmania, where he holds a research chair in Pyrogeography and Fire Science. He is recognised as a thought leader in wildfire science and management publishing influential research in high-impact journals, providing policy advice to government, and serving as an expert media commentor. From 2019 to 2022 he was listed as a Clarivate highly cited cross-disciplinary Researcher.

He will be giving a public presentation at Wildbark next Tuesday night at 6 pm:

Christmas Wreath Making

Join us for an afternoon of Christmas Wreath making with native plants and flowers.

Adding a personal touch to your decorations as well as a beautiful afternoon with nibbles and drinks. It wouldn’t be the festive season without some Christmas crafts, so come and create a beautiful Christmas wreath embellished with seasonal flowers. A beginner-friendly workshop, you will be taken through how to assemble your wreath using flowers and elements that complement one another, and how to thread and weave these around the wire. You’ll have access to an extensive collection of flowers and foliage, varying in different colours and types. Go as traditionally festive, or experimental as you like!

Date: Saturday 30th of November, 3-5pm
Cost: $120
(this includes all your supplies for your wreath as well as a mixture of Antipasto and cheese platters as well as a glass of your choice on arrival)

Rabbit Hunting

Our Ranger-team used rabbit scent in a trap to help check for rabbits in the Sanctuary.
Whilst no rabbits were attracted it did draw the attention of this Eastern Quoll family! Lend your support to our Sanctuary programs by donating below...
