We often hear people say they are seeing less and less small birds so I thought I'd share that this year I added Double-barred finches to my backyard list after living here in Giralang for 14 years.
I just saw a dozen fly through and hang out in the apricot tree for a while. I first clocked them in autumn this year but it's the first time I've seen them in a few months.
Always a thrill.
