BIGnet Presentations Forum 21 September - you are invited

Canberra Birds (COG) is hosting a meeting of BIGnet (the Bird Interest Group Network) in Canberra on Saturday 21 September. BIGnet is a network of NSW birding groups plus Canberra Birds. The meeting has been mentioned in Gang-gang over several months and at our member meetings.

BIGnet includes a morning business meeting for delegates, and an afternoon Presentations Forum on the theme of Community Engagement in Conservation. Members of Canberra Birds are invited to the Forum, which is an opportunity to hear more about some very good local initiatives, and also yo chat with people from other birding organisations over afternoon tea.

We have lined up some great speakers - Belinda Wilson, Sho Rapley and Brittany Brockett (on the Mulligans Flat–Goorooyarroo Woodland Experiment), Bridie Noble (on the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor), Michael Lenz (on the Birdlife Australia Key Biodiversity Area at Lake Bathurst near Tarago), and Lori Gould (on the Latham's Snipe Project). 

The Forum is being held at Wildbark at Mulligans Flat, starts at 1.30 pm and will run until about 5:00. Seating is limited so to be sure of getting a place, please RSVP by 16 September to 

Plus, Twilight tour:

Following the BIGnet meeting, there will be a Twilight Tour of Mulligan’s Flat Woodland Sanctuary led by a guide from the Sanctuary. This has been arranged at a discounted price of $45.00 for BIGnet participants. There are several places still available.
