Dear all
On the 15th August I posted information to the Chatline about the Friends of Callum Brae's Request for Reconsideration of decision (under Commonwealth environmental legislation). This was regarding the proposed Crematorium adjacent to Callum Brae Nature Reserve. COG Committee has been following this matter for several years. The Request for Reconsideration is based on new information about the use of the site by critically endangered Swift Parrots, supported by the expert opinions of several researchers.
Canberra Birds (COG) has now submitted a response to support the Reconsideration request. This is attached below.
If you wish to submit your own support for this Request for Reconsideration, it needs to be entered at: The Request for Reconsideration needs to focus on "substantial new information" and any "substantial change in circumstance", as explained at
Regards Kim Farley Vice President, Canberra Birds (COG)
