Chris and I went for a walk last Tuesday on part of the Centenary trail, which starts in Hoskins Street, near the back of Hall (about 1pm when it was fine!!). We walked about 100m
uphill and then veered off to the right on a small walking track (not the main one) and were rewarded with a golden whistler (in full view), several Brown thornbills, as well as Superb Fairy wrens (male and female). Several crimson rosellas also flew past
and as we returned to the township after following this loop track, we sighted a common blackbird, about 15 Sacred Ibis (on someone's front lawn in Gladstone Street) and the usual gathering of galahs (about 15) and about 20 Sulphur Crested cockatoos on the
oval. I thought this may of interest to some of the members as it is an easy 30 minute walk (a fence and a gate to negotiate) rich with birdlife. Look forward to seeing you at the next meeting, Barbara
