In a comment about an eBird issue to do with sharing lists, somewhere on Facebook, a comment was made "They are doing some work on the system."  No further detail.  I hope it is SNAFU not FUBAR.

I did notice that when I shared the checklist from Sunday’s COG outing participants accepted the list, but they did not show up in the public ACT set of lists yesterday. But all ok this morning.

There is suspicion that the eBird bug is triggered by sharing a checklist or receiving a shared checklist: see discussion at

Thanks Martin. Good to know. It seems to be affecting different people in different ways. Some people can use the browser version with no troubles but others not. For me the app and the browser aren't talking to each other and the app was not working for part of the afternoon. I'm glad some folks are not having any probs though. Maybe it's affecting only Android users.

I expect they'll have it sorted by morning our time

Seems to be working OK - iPhone and laptop - here in Mallacoota.  As it was between 3 and 4pm

Hi all

eBird has been out of action since this afternoon (Sunday). I am not aware that this has ever happened before. Hopefully things will be back to normal tomorrow morning. Unfortunately I know no more than any other eBirder, but if I do learn anything I will share it with the Chatline.
