Early in the appearance of the Australian Little Bittern at Cygnus hide yesterday, the swamphen in the attached photo decided to stop between photographers and the bittern. While the swamphen was only there for a couple of seconds, you can imagine the appreciative comments made towards it (all caught on my video). The bittern stayed in place and only flinched when the swamphen decided to move on. Luckily, for the swamphen and photographers, the bittern stayed around for over an hour and gave plenty of opportunities to be photographed. Steve
