Dear Philip,

Thanks so much for all your help. David Pocock was happy to be photographed holding up the Taylor Swift Parrot Tee today, and Shane Rattenbury too.

They are both going to send their photos out on social media, and David is going to mention it on Tuesday in Parliament, when he has his 2 minute slot.

For your use/information, attached is the Media Release and images that have been distributed to Environment and Entertainment journos today.

Hoping we will get some momentum for saving the beautiful Swifty.

Regards,

Samantha

Fine. You can look it up too. I suspect the phone number is his Chief of Staff's. The card I have is her card, not his. But his name is in bigger letters. Funny thing, is I have a suspicion that Fiona is his wife. I met them together but I might be confused about that or remember it not quite right. So don’t quote me.

Thanks Philip, and apologies for calling you Phil.

Is that David's phone number or his Chief of Staff's?

Thanks

I have his card on my desk:

It is pretty obvious: www.davidpocock.com.au

Or his chief of staff (assuming no change):

+61 407294620

Actually I am a little surprised at the campaign of linking Swift Parrots to Taylor Swift. I wonder what, if anything, this lady would know about Swift Parrots. To me it makes more sense in promoting bird conservation to link her to swifts (as a group, with species around a lot of the world). In Australia there would appear to be a strong indication that swifts are in decline. But, by all means having done that, go with conservation efforts for Swift Parrots. I don’t know much about advertising. It (or anything) could help, apart from being obscure beyond Australia.

,

Philip (not Phil)

Dear Phil, Rob and Sandra,

Australian fashion designer Prue Acton has produced a tshirt for Taylor Swift (below) to gain Taylor's support of the Swift parrot.

Prue is in Melbourne, and it would be fantastic if David Pocock could WEAR HER TSHIRT TODAY to promote all of our pushes for saving the swifty.

Can you help with a contact for David, so me or Prue can contact him today?

Thanks,

Samantha

MEDIA APPROACH

Good afternoon,

Australia's fashion boss Prue Acton has designed an exclusive Tee (t-shirt) for megastar Taylor Swift featuring the critically endangered Swift parrot.

Called the Taylor Swift Parrot Tee, Prue is gifting it to Taylor to wear on her Eras Tour.

The Tee is designed with help from wildlife photographer Rob Blakers, and includes wording to link Taylor Swift with her namesake the Swift parrot, and hashtag #taylorswift4swiftparrot

Prue thought this story would be of interest to you. She is available for interview to talk about the initiative, and the story behind the Tee and the Swift parrot.

Please contact me or Prue directly if you would like more information or an interview (see media release below).

Australia’s fashion boss designs Taylor Swift Parrot Tee for US megastar

Aussie Swifties to fly onboard to save world’s fastest parrot

There’s more than one type of Swifty vying for the attention of mega songbird Taylor Swift in Australia.

Since her arrival in the land down-under as part of her Eras Tour, concerned Aussies have been asking Taylor to champion her namesake, the critically endangered Swift parrot, the fastest parrot in the world and only found in south-eastern Australia.

Now Australian living legend and fashion designer Prue Acton OBE, has teamed up with world renowned environmental photographer Rob Blakers to design and produce an organic Tee for Taylor featuring the extraordinarily beautiful Swift parrot.

Often referred to as “Australia’s golden girl of fashion” during the sixties, Prue ’s love of bold and colourful textiles made her clothing stand out from the rest. After breaking into the New York fashion scene, Prue became one the most highly sought after Australian designers of the 70s and 80s.

Today Prue said it would be incredible for Taylor to wear her latest design, the Taylor Swift Parrot Tee, while in Paris and other international cities during the Eras Tour.

“The Taylor Swift Parrot Tee is a casual but stylish piece of clothing that will look amazing on Taylor, and of course with the Swift parrot image it will raise awareness of this incredibly important conservation campaign in Australia.

“We’re hoping Taylor will wear it out and about over the next few months. We love the concept #taylorswift4swiftparrot.”

The Swift parrot has recently gained international attention with Leonardo DiCaprio endorsing Bob Brown Foundation’s saveswifties.org campaign.

It is estimated there are only 750 Swift parrots left in the wild due to deforestation from logging and land clearing, but conservationists are working hard to stop the logging of their remaining habitat in Tasmania and New South Wales.

Without urgent help, Australia’s critically endangered Swift parrot will be extinct in ten years.

I have met David Pocock for a good discussion. As well as having been
apparently an outstanding Rugby player, he has a long and strong interest in
birds. I think he is good value. He bought my book (The GBS Report) too.

Philip

Great! Asking Taylor Swift to speak on the plight of the Swift Parrot was something that I wanted to suggest.
