This is interesting: there was a very agitated flock of 50-100 Sulphur-crested Cockatoos circling over Ainslie, Dickson and Downer yesterday, Wednesday, and I did wonder what might have disturbed them so competently and completely.

By chance this followed the unexpected presence of one of the same species perched apparently calmly on the northern slow lane sign at the Dickson Pool on Tuesday morning;: it was accompanying its ‘owner’ on his morning swim, and was acquired via ‘Gumtree’. No interactions were observed with the local Wood Ducks or Silver Gulls.

I had a grey morph circling low over my house in Kaleen 3 weeks ago much to the annoyance of the local bird population. This was my second record of this species at home after a white morph landed on my clothes while I was having breakfast many years ago.

This morning at about 7:20 a grey goshawk appeared briefly before flying off to the north, creating a lot of disturbance amongst the local cockatoos. The white underparts and bright yellow legs were very obvious through binoculars.
