Happy New Year to all subscribers and a reminder that the 2024 program of monthly COG/Canberra Birds meetings will start in a week’s time when we will be having a Quiz Night with Mark Clayton as
Quizmaster.
As I’m not sure the message I sent earlier this afternoon got through (the e-mail address was rather unusual) I am reposting it in a different order.
Full details of the night are below.
While prior registration is not compulsory Mark has previously asked that if you are intending to come but haven’t yet contacted him could you please let him know on
m("bigpond.com","chollop7");">
so he will have a reasonable idea of the likely numbers.
Mark has also asked that could
EVERYONE bring some sort of writing implement. He will have answer sheets for the 60+ questions he has organised. Bribing the judge (Mark) will also be permitted (not to be published but any money
raised will go to COG’s bird research fund!!). He will also supply some “goodies” to be thrown at tables at suitable times e.g. small packets of potato chips, M and M s etc. He will have two of his banding team (Marion and Gil Pfitzner) to help mark
the sheets after each round. Tables will be allocated by drawing a coloured ring from a bowl or something similar– he has enough rings for 8 teams of 6 people each plus a few for backups if needed. Mark will reserve the right to split up any team that looks
“too strong”. The prize will be knowing that your team won on the night!!
Once again many thanks to Mark for offering to run the Quiz Night – it seems to be attracting plenty of interest and we are looking forward to seeing you there.
