I heard Superb parent young being fed at the Starke Street, Holt oval about a
week ago. I saw some adults but couldn't locate the chicks in the foliage. I
went back later with binoculars but couldn't find them

In my experience with superb parrots from the Molonglo Valley breeding site,
the newly fledged young ones are indeed capable of keeping up with the adults.
However, I cannot comment on the relative speeds of adults with or without
young in tow. (I have not checked the airspeed of an unladen superb parrot … )

Once fledged, there’s not really that much tying them to the breeding site.
There are significant roosting sites around the place, including in North
Watson.
