The two black blobs on either side of the horizontal cable are two male Koels. 29th November from 10.12hrs
They were sheltering from incessant rain for the best part of an hour. Very few vocalisations and then squeaks rather than either normal koel calls.
I assumed there was a female somewhere amongst the eucalypts’ branches but never saw her.

Also, during these rain events a male Magpie Lark has become adept at ‘grabbing’ Brown butterflies out of the air and consuming them once landed.
