Not birds but they do lay eggs and I thought there would be some interest in the following event.

Early on Tuesday morning my dogs were very excited around our daughter’s car and on inspection I found not the expected cat but two echidnas under it.  I tried to move them on but they wedged themselves, often very close together, under it.

They didn’t leave until they did separately late morning over about a half an hour, then spending the next hour or so digging for ants around our Chapman garden, as they have done from time to time over the past couple of years.

If anyone is interested I can provide more details including a couple of photos.
