Strawberry Trees (Arbutus unedo) are flowering and fruiting around the suburbs at the moment (see picture, the only tree/shrub known the fruit and flower simultaneously).

To the west of Curtin, around the little Cork Oak plantation along Cotter Road these trees are being visited by flocks of birds. Silvereyes are eating the fruit, and Yellow-faced Honeyeaters (and a few White-plumed) are feeding on the flowers!
