After getting an alert from ebird of Blue-faced Honeyeaters at Acton Park I went out this morning to look for them. Soon after arriving I could hear the young calling and a short look around for my ebird list I recorded 6 birds, 3 Adults and 3 juveniles, 1 with a short tail ( Still at the nest ), 1 with a half length tail and 1 with a full grown tail.

However after searching for a couple hours there were 2 recently fledged young with stumpy tails but in different trees. They did not look like they were ready for flight yet and Christine suggested the possibility they were from different nests, Both trees did have a nest but were different in appearance. The young with the half grown tail and full grown tail were only seen in the first 10 minutes and not seen again so possibly a third nest?

There were also 2 immature birds present with one of them having a little bit of blue on it's eye patch. Interestingly the Young were being fed by 2 adults and the 2 immature birds so I assume the immature are from the same parents from another recent nesting.

They are located near the foot bridge that crosses over Parks Way from the city to Acton Park.
