Thanks for that. I have just phoned him. The description is convincing and the bird was doing wattlebird mimicry. Which is diagnostic. (It was me who first described this behaviour in print. So I am still interested in this.) I am intending to go and check it out in about an hour. Peron Place, Banks. (I did have other plans for the day. ) They tend to stay around for a few days in this situation.
