There is a book called "Top End Birding" written by Mike Reed which covers 
Kakadu, Pine Creek, Katherine, Mataranka, Victoria River, Timber Creek and 
Kununurra. It is/was available in newsagencys around the Top End. It is only a 
slim volume of 24 pages, green cover with photos of Hooded Parrot, Gouldian 
Finch and Banded Fruit-dove on cover.

I wonder is there such a book? I have a book Birds of Australia's top end 
(Denise Goodfellow). That is the closest match I know of. An internet search 
found this NT Bird Specialists - Luke Paterson Australian Bird Guide
