While making a quick visit to Kelly Swamp this morning for a few snaps of the vegetation, I paid some attention to the artwork of Andrew Hore.  Andrew has no objection to my showing this example here, for the information of overseas subscribers to this chatline.  Andrew, quite good in the past at drawing Vikings, has done a good job of presenting the views of Latham’s Snipe on inconsiderate runners using the walkways. If I were to offer a small criticism it is that Latham’s Snipe are not present at Kelly Swamp during the cooler months which represent the peak running/jogging/exercising season. I suppose the choice of bird species came from the consideration that no-one really has much against a visiting snipe. Had an all-year bird like a Bin Chicken been chosen, it would only be a matter of time before someone took a spray can to the sign to write ‘Who cares?’, or something worse.
