Hi Everyone,
A few interesting birds I've seen over the course of my Xmas/New Holidays:
Square Tailed Kite: at Malua Bay in early Jan. hunting the tree tops
around Mimosa Pl. had been seen several years previous to the fires so
presumably survived but we weren't around last Xmas so this was the
first time since the fires we'd seen this lovely bird back and hunting
in its territory.
Also lots of Whitethroated Needletails around down the coast, biggest
flock at least 70 individuals-very beautiful!
Figbird: northern end of Morton National park deep in a gorge feeding
in-not surprisingly- a figtree.
Pied Butcherbird, around Stony Creek Reserve on the Mummimbidgee y'day
afternoon, beautiful adult singing away :)
cheers,
Peter Miller
