Further to this email from last Monday, here is a photo taken that day at Wamboin. The landowner advises that she has now seen three nestlings being fed by their parents.

Subject: White-necked Heron breeding record at Wamboin
Greetings. We have only a tiny number of breeding records of the White-necked Heron in COG’s area of interest.
This afternoon I visited one of my neighbours’ properties where this species is currently breeding. I observed an adult sitting on a nest which is in a tall eucalyptus tree overhanging their bottom dam. One of the landowners saw three adults
in flight near the nest earlier in the day. They advise that, on 5 Sep 2021, they first observed two of the herons building the nest. 'Over the next few weeks, we have seen them flying around, being chased by nesting magpies, and flying off when we approach’,
they advised. I will add some photographs to the eBird record in due course.
Also … three Oz shelducklings at Trucking Yard Lane dam, Bungendore, this morning, and 12 Plumed Whistling-Ducks at the Bungendore Meadows Dam.
