Yes, another Pacific Koel report but it’s quite a rare event in Holt regardless of the time of year.

At 10:00 hours I was in the garden and heard the wirra wirra call given three times which I’m pretty sure issued from a backyard bordering on that of our adjacent neighbours. It was a very scratchy, insipid trio of calls dying away so the last wirra was left unfinished viz, wirra wirra, wirra wirra, wirra wirr... ,and that’s all she/he, the koel, called.
