For those in Gungahlin,

While taking my son for a walk around Yerrabi Pond this afternoon I am 90% sure
I saw a female musk duck on the main pondage. I didn’t have my camera and
the mobile phone picture I took is useless. The duck was in the middle of the
pondage but appeared large and had erect tail feathers. I say 90% because
there’s a (small) chance it’s a female blue-billed duck if I’ve got my
impression of size and shape wrong.

Either way I think this is an unusual sighting at Yerrabi Pond, and I’d be
interested if anyone else sees it and can settle my doubts about the ID.

cheers
Murray Delahoy
