Thanks Neil and Sue. I just hope that kingfisher has the decency to either hang around until I can cross the lake, or to take a turn over here for a while!

Hi everyone

Further to Neil's email about abiding by the ACT Govt's Covid rules ( "to exercise outdoors for two hours per day in your region" - see map), I was working on a piece for the Oct issue of Gang-gang about where to bird during lockdown, but since it is another fortnight until that appears on the web, I decided to look back at Sandra's 'New Places' column that she has produced for Gang-gang since 2018. To keep us all within our appropriate regions and for quick reference, I have copied and pasted Sandra's notes into a document for each region, listing places she has visited within those regions.

Also, to help me with my Gang-gang article, which hopefully will help get us through until October 15, I am looking for some more suggestions of where to exercise/bird in your region.  Yesterday I discovered the old Weetangera Cemetery as I walked from Hawker to Pegasus.  Please send any suggestions to me by Wed 29 Sept, briefly stating location, address or description of where to park, and particular birds to look out for.

Hope you find the attachments useful. (Tuggeranong has the biggest list because that is where Sandra lives).

Sue

Just a reminder that all birders should be aware of, and comply with, the ACT Government's directions concerning permissible outdoor activities. It reflects on all of us if some birders are not being seen to be responsible.
